Our tentative 2012 schedule will soon be listed below. Note that it changes monthly as we add tool and material lists for upcoming meetings or make adjustments as necessary.

January - Zentangle

Tuesday, January 17 -  7pm

Zentangle onto cured polymer clay cabochons. Please bring your Sakura Micron pens size #01. ( additional Size 005 optional)
All other materials will be provided.

February - Design

Plan Your Project -
    Carol Harder: basics of design (Elements of Art, Principles of Design)
    Gale Schlagel: planning ahead (and what happens if you don't)
    Lynette Fisk: resources for ideas, sketch it out first!

March - Tear Away Technique

Tuesday, March 20
    Jen Finley leads us in the Tear-Away Technique to make your own custom
low-relief texture plates using paper and polymer clay. Created by Gwen Gibson and used extensively by Celie Fago, create a custom texture to use on your project.

April - Stone Setting

Tuesday, April 17 - 7:00 p.m.

Stone Setting - Gale will teach 3 (or more) ways to set your stones.

AND

Saturday, April 14 or 21 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. TBD
Basics Workshop at Lynette's Studio in Pleasant Hill, MO

Get hands-on learning for those basic skills you want to try.

Sawing, drilling, sanding, buffing, beginning soldering, forging, riveting. We'll have tool stations set up with a teacher for each topic. Try everything! We'll have a potluck lunch - more details to follow. Sign up early

May - Pottery and Metal Clay

Tuesday, May 15 - 7:00 p.m.

Use a piece of ancient Chinese pottery or a bit of your favorite broken tea cup to create a unique pendant, which can also include a set stone using a technique from April’s stone-setting lesson. Note: decal-type porcelain works best so designs don't bleach out in the kiln.

June - End Caps

Tuesday, June 19 - 7:00 p.m.

Using the texture plates you made in March, create custom end-caps for your piece that will coordinate with your pendant. Gale Schlagel

July - Kumihimo

Tuesday, July 17 - 7:00 p.m.

Weave a custom necklace/braid to hold your pendant and fit into your custom end caps. Pat Kuehn and helpers

August - Hadar Jacobsen’s Powdered Clays 

Tuesday, August 21 - 7:00 p.m.

Experiment with a variety of powdered metal clays – copper, bronze,and more. Lynette Fisk

September  - Etching

Tuesday, September 18 - 7:00 p.m.

Create a design on sheet metal (copper or brass) using resists and chemical bath. Pat Kuehn

October - Sand Blasting

Tuesday, October 16 - 7:00 p.m.

Sand blasting with Susan Silvy - sounds like a blast!!

November - Electro - Plating

Tuesday, November 20 - 7:00 p.m.

        Apply metal coating to anything – a seed pod, twig or found object. Joyce Reed
